Description: The Mental Health Act Commission is a special Health Authority that looks after patients who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983. Offers to help patients or relatives make complaints about matters relating to the care and treatment of detained patients, but has no power to consider appeals against detention. The Commission produces several leaflets covering treatment and complaints.
