The Alzehimer's Society is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Dementia now affects over 750,000 people in the UK alone. The Alzheimer's Society provides information and support for those with any form of dementia and their carers. It advises professionals working in the field, funds research, runs quality care services and campaigns for improved health and social care and greater public understanding of dementia.

AnxietyCare

A registered charity that helps people with anxiety disorders to help themselves. Literature can be downloaded free of charge. Also available is an online discussion room on Fridays 8pm - 10pm fortnightly and a helpline on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am - 3pm.

Council for Information on Tranquillisers and Antidepressants

CITA was founded in 1987 by Pam Armstrong and Peter Ritson, as a national helpline, support and information service for people who had become involuntarily addicted to their prescribed tranquillisers. This service was also used extensively by relatives and friends of patients and by professionals involved in managing addiction to mind altering drugs. Subsequently CITA developed a general stress and anxiety management service, which is now used by clients and professionals alike.

Learn to Meditate

Weekly buddhist meditation classes in: Basingstoke, Bracknell, Farnham, Henley on Thames, High Wycombe, Maidenhead, Newbury, Oxford, Reading, Windsor and Wokingham. Classes operate on an informal drop-in basis and are suitable for all levels of experience. Classes consist of guided mediations, a teaching, a few minutes of traditional prayers, and a question and answer session. Seating is on chairs, dress comfortably. No need to book in advance. Mind

Richmond Fellowship

The Royal College of Psychiatrists

Information and advice on many different different mental health problems, as well as therapies and services. Our evidence-based, award-winning leaflets contain input from both patients and psychiatrists. We have leaflets for carers, professionals, parents and resources for teachers.
