Buckinghamshire Mind depends on Volunteers as an integral part of all our services. There are always opportunities for you to volunteer whatever your skills, experience or however much time you have available. Trustees
Buckinghamshire Mind is a charity working to support and represent people with Mental Health needs in the local community. The organisation employs 27 people, supported by a large number of volunteers to a range of mental health services including Counselling, Employment Support, Befriending, Social clubs, mentoring and training.
We are looking to expand the membership of our Board of Trustees in order to support the achievement of our strategic plan. We are particularly interested in trustees with knowledge in the following areas: publicity including fundraising, human resources, quality, finance, management of a third sector organisation, volunteering and experience of the role of Chief Executive.
You will work with us to support the work of the organisation and to influence the mental health agenda in Buckinghamshire.
Befriending
Our service is always looking for volunteers who can commit to meeting a service user on a regular basis for 1:1 social contact. Our service is particularly in need of male volunteers, so if you have a couple of hours a week to spare, please contact us on 01494 792244
Counselling for Adults
We are able to offer supervised clinical placements for counsellors studying for their diploma, opportunities for qualified volunteer counsellors. Please call 01494 463364 for more details.
Counselling for Children and Young People
We have a limited number of placements/volunteering opportunities available in our Young Person's service. You would need to be a qualified counsellor looking to expand your experience, or looking for a placement to qualify in children's work. Please call 01494 463364 for more details.
