Article published on: Thursday, 02 August 2018

Buckinghamshire Mind has received a grant from the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust Thriving Communities Fund to help fund the costs of providing our Adult Counselling Service in Aylesbury on Saturdays.

“We support some of the most disadvantaged, marginalised and overlooked people in our community and, therefore, it was very important that we increased access to our services by providing a weekend service,” explains Bev Taylor, Counselling Team Lead for Buckinghamshire Mind. “This grant has helped cover the costs of extending our Adult Counselling Service in Aylesbury to include Saturday mornings so that we can reach out and help more people. This enables those who are working, are carers or who have childcare responsibilities to have more flexibility when accessing our service.”

We know that mental health is a growing concern within our communities as we receive phone calls every day from people desperate for support for themselves, family members or friends. We aim to expand and develop the services we provide in line with our 2016 – 2019 strategic plan of delivering quality community based services that promote good mental health.

We will not give up until everyone in the county with a mental health problem gets both support and respect.

Grants and funding from organisations such as the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust help Buckinghamshire Mind to deliver our mental health services so that we can be there for everyone who needs us.
