Our Peer Support in Schools Service currently runs in primary and secondary schools in Buckinghamshire. The Young People’s Service trains both year 6 and year 13 students in mental health awareness and gives them the skills needed to support peers in their schools. To date, we have trained 119 mentors and supported 164 young people.

What our service users say:

“We learned all about what a peer mentor is and what mental health is and I’m going to go home and talk about it.”

“I liked learning different ways to sort situations out that I couldn’t have solved before. I liked doing a role play and seeing how arguments occur and how to fix it.”

“We all put our ideas into action and learnt how to help others. Another thing I liked was how we discussed our feelings and talked about mental health.”
