Three women – Tori Roddy, Imogen Flack and Helen Richardson – have raised thousands of pounds for Buckinghamshire Mind by completing the Virgin Money London Marathon 2017 on 23rd April.

“Everyone at Buckinghamshire Mind is incredibly grateful to Tori, Imogen and Helen for undertaking such a massive challenge and raising substantial funds for our charity,” says Andrea McCubbin, Buckinghamshire Mind’s Chief Executive.

“Buckinghamshire Mind relies on individuals who, through their fantastic fundraising efforts, help us to deliver our invaluable services for people with a mental health problem in Buckinghamshire. We would like to say huge congratulations to Tori, Imogen and Helen for their amazing achievement.”

The Official Charity for this year’s race is Heads Together, spearheaded by Prince Harry and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Heads Together is supporting eight charities – including Mind, to which Buckinghamshire Mind is affiliated – who are raising awareness and providing help for people with mental health challenges. The aim of Heads Together is to end the stigma around mental health and start a national conversation on mental wellbeing for everyone.

“In the time that I have been involved as a Trustee of Buckinghamshire Mind, I have seen how crucial the services are that we are able to provide,” explains Tori Roddy. “Mental illness is something that will touch all our lives at some point; one in four people will experience mental health problems in their lifetime. I have experience in my close family of serious mental health problems and I want every person, young or old, suffering from these debilitating illnesses to have access to the care and support they need.”
