On Tuesday 13th June, the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, Peter Kara, visited mental health charity Buckinghamshire Mind to meet service users, volunteers and staff at the charity’s Counselling Service and offices in Aylesbury.

Peter Kara’s focus during his year in office is on mental health and he hopes his position as High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire office will provide opportunities to promote wider discussion on mental health, particularly initiatives focusing on prevention and early intervention.

“It was really good to meet the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire and I’m glad he’s interested in mental health,” said Adam Makeham, Volunteer and Chair of the Bucks Mind Service User Council

“Buckinghamshire Mind was delighted to host the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire and to provide the opportunity for him to meet and talk to our service users, volunteers and staff,” said Andrea McCubbin, Buckinghamshire Mind’s Chief Executive. “We are very pleased that Mr Kara has chosen to focus on mental health during his term of office and we look forward to working with him to raise awareness of mental health issues over the coming year.”
