Article published on: Thursday, 07 June 2018

Buckinghamshire Mind has received a grant from the Aylesbury Vale District Council’s New Homes Bonus Micro Grant Scheme.

We are delighted to be able to use this grant to refurbish our meeting rooms in Aylesbury by purchasing new chairs.

Our meeting rooms are used mainly for our counselling sessions for adults (over 18) and young people (11-17 years) but also for befriending appointments, employment support sessions, supervision for our volunteers and other vital meetings.

“Our funding is used to deliver front line services, so we are very grateful to AVDC for awarding this grant so that we can provide an environment that is comfortable, warm and welcoming,” explains Bev Taylor, Counselling Team Lead for Buckinghamshire Mind. “This will help our service users to feel worthwhile and cared for and it will demonstrate that they matter and deserve nice surroundings, therefore contributing to improved self-worth and self-esteem.”

Buckinghamshire Mind supports and represents people with mental health problems living across the county. We bring focused mental health expertise to our partnerships and the services we provide. We work with people in their communities. We believe in supporting people to live the lives they want, as fully as possible.

We will not give up until everyone in the county with a mental health problem gets both support and respect.

This work relies on grants and funding from organisations such as Aylesbury Vale District Council, which ensure that Buckinghamshire Mind can be there for everyone who needs us.
