Buckinghamshire Mind is launching Care in Mind, a series of courses to support people with Young Onset Dementia (under the age of 65).

The courses aim to help people to continue to live well with Young Onset Dementia and to maintain wellbeing. It will be an opportunity for participants to meet others, share experiences and have fun participating in a variety of physical activities, tailored to a beginner level.

“The emphasis of these courses is very much on fun,” explains Penny Crosswell, Care in Mind Co-ordinator for Buckinghamshire Mind. “Having a Young Onset Dementia diagnosis can be devastating, but it’s really important to continue to live well and enjoy an active and fulfilled life.”

The courses are open to anyone with a Young Onset Dementia diagnosis and each participant is encouraged to bring a companion, friend or family member with them to the sessions.

The six-week courses will be held once a week for two hours and will take place at three venues:
