April is Stress Awareness Month.

We all experience levels of stress from time to time.  Stress Awareness Month aims to improve the way in which we manage our personal stress, whether that be in the workplace or in our personal lives.

Pressure is part of our usual everyday lives, but we need to manage a healthy level of pressure effectively to prevent it having a detrimental impact on our wellbeing. Regular and high levels of stress should not be ignored.

Signs of stress: anxiety, loneliness, fatigue, headaches, overwhelm, irritable, sleep problems, panic attacks

Signs of stress include anxiety, loneliness, fatigue, headaches, irritability, sleep problems, panic attacks and feeling overwhelmed.

There are things we can do to help manage our stress levels:

  • Good sleep hygiene to promote better sleep
  • Connect with people and talk about our feelings
  • Go outside for a walk and fresh air
  • Develop hobbies and interests
  • Be physically active
  • Eat healthily
