The Older Adults Wellbeing Group were joined by the Berkhamsted Strathspey & Reel Club last week for a traditional Burns Night celebration.

This included traditional Scottish dancing and singing, learning about Tartan and piping in and addressing of the haggis. Everyone enjoyed a Burns Night lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties followed by cranachan for dessert.

It was an amazing atmosphere, the dancers were extremely talented and performed such wonderful dances. The highlight, however, was hearing the bagpipes!

Berkhamsted Strathspey & Reel Club, which has a membership drawn from a wide area in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire and from all walks of life., meets for social dancing every Tuesday evening, from September to May, in Potten End Village Hall, near Berkhamsted. We are very grateful to them for providing a really enjoyable experience for our Older Adults’ Wellbeing Group.
