We understand the impact that stigma and discrimination can have on the mental health of people who identify as LGBTQ+. Buckinghamshire Mind’s services are LGBTQ+ inclusive and we welcome everyone.
This Pride Month, we want to direct you to amazing LGBTQ+ organisations working in Buckinghamshire, East Berkshire and nationally. Please get in touch to promote your mental health and wellbeing.
Buckinghamshire:
- LGBT Bucks provides information on LGBTQ+ support in Buckinghamshire. Visit them on org.
- Aylesbury runs an LGBTQ+ social group. Visit them on co.uk.
- Wycombe Mind run ‘Out Loud’, a Youth Group for LGBTQ+ youth. Email [email protected] for more information.
- Support U are an LGBTQ+ charity for the Thames Vally and Reading area. Their support services provide counselling, hate crime reporting, events, a support line and groups. Please visit supportu.org.uk to learn more.
- Milton Keynes has an amazing LGBTQ+ choir. If you are interested in getting involved, contact [email protected].
- Students at Bucks New University have recently established an LGBTQ+ society. If you are a student and interested in getting involved, please contact your student union.
- If you are an LGBTQ+ woman and are looking to gain community, Berks and Bucks LGBTQ+ women are a good group to join. They can be found on ‘meetup’.
- Gay Outdoor Club organise lots of outdoorsy outings around Buckinghamshire. Please visit them on goc.org.uk/groups/milton-keynes-buckinghamshire.
East Berkshire:

There are hundreds of national charities that support LGBTQ+ people. Here are just a few:
- Switchboard LGBTQ+ is a helpline for anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+. Call 08000119100 to get in touch.
- LGBT Foundation provides advice, support and information for anyone identifying as LGBTQ+. Call them on 03453303030.
- Mermaids provide a support line for trans children and young people, as well as their families. Call 08088010400.
- Mind LGBTQ provides information and mental health support for people who are LGBTQ+.
- Stonewall provides a wealth of resources, as well as a directory of LGBTQ+ services in your area. Visit them at stonewall.org.uk.
- Gendered Intelligence supports trans people, especially trans youth. Visit them at genderedintelligence.co.uk.
- The Albert Kennedy Trust support LGBTQ+ people between 16-25 who are experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment. Learn more at akt.org.uk.
