Do you feel you are experiencing a mental health crisis?
Are you looking for somewhere to go in the evening for crisis support?
At Mind we recognise that evenings can be a difficult time for people living with mental health difficulties. Feedback from service users told us that during a mental health crisis they wanted a place to go for support during the evening; somewhere non-clinical that they could feel comfortable and safe.
In response, Buckinghamshire Mind are delivering Safe Haven in partnership with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. It is a service that offers support to those experiencing a mental health crisis out-of-hours. At Safe Haven there is a group room where people can talk with other service users and take part in group activities life crafts and games. Alternatively, people may just want to sit quietly or do individual activities such as crosswords and colouring. There is also a one-to-one room where service users can receive listening support, be signposted to relevant charities, and create a safety plan. The service is run by three Mind staff and there are no more than six service users there at once.
Safe Haven is held at the Whiteleaf Centre and open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 6.30pm until 12am. Safe Haven is not a drop-in, so please call ahead to reserve a space. Tel – 07508350553 (phone line only available from 6pm on the day of service.)
