This Trustees’ Week (9 to 13 November), we’re highlighting the vital importance of having lived experience on a charity’s Board of Trustees.

One of Bucks Mind’s lived experience Trustees, Simon Chapman, explains what he hopes to achieve while on our Board.

“By joining the Board, I hope I can influence change in social stigma to poor mental health, especially in the workplace, as well as encouraging men to share their mental health experiences, which I know for many, including myself, is very difficult.

“I also hope my knowledge of what works for me will help Bucks Mind to develop the right supportive services within Buckinghamshire and East Berkshire.”

Trustees’ Week is a chance to recognise the fantastic contribution our Board of Trustees make to our charity and to say a huge ‘thank you’ for their incredible support.

Bucks Mind is led by a passionate, dedicated and experienced Board of Trustees. Together they bring a wealth of diverse, specialised experience across a variety of sectors including Health, Mental Health, Social Care, Psychology, Compliance, IT, Project Management, Finance and HR.

“I encourage anyone who has time to spare and wants to make a difference to consider becoming a charity Trustee,” says Simon.

Thank you to all our wonderful Trustees for their commitment to Bucks Mind and for giving their time, energy and expertise to our charity.
