A great event to wrap-up and walk off the Christmas and New Year celebrations. There are Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km distance options – plus an accessible ‘Family Fun 5K’ on the Sunday. All routes start and finish at The Oval Cricket Ground and take in highlights of the Thames, its historic bridges and many of the Capital’s landmarks. Sign-up as a team or as an individual. Get active after the Easter holidays and take on a historic 50km Ultra, a testing 25km, or a sharp 10km challenge at your pace, as a walk, jog or run. From a Windsor Racecourse basecamp, 2000 adventurers will head out on looped routes through the Great Park with fantastic views of the Castle, on to Runnymede, along the Thames Path and taking in some wonderful surrounding countryside. Spectacular World Heritage coastline to take on at your pace as a walk, jog or run. A start in Corfe Castle, the route heads down to Swanage and along through Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups and downs to Weymouth halfway. For full 100km challengers, it’s past Portland Bill, Chesil Beach and on to West Bay – before a finish line in the vibrant town of Bridport. Get your walking shoes on and explore some of the Capital’s less known historic areas with a tour of the ‘gateway to London’ along the Thames’s eastern section. Starting alongside the grandeur of Woolwich Barracks (short walk from Elizabeth Line, DLR and Overground) there’s a marathon looped route, which heads into the heart of the Capital, alongside a 25km option taking in Greenwich and a 10km option if you’re after something a bit shorter! Routes steeped in history with iconic sights, a lively warm-up, full support all the way, rest stops with snacks and drinks and a BBQ meal with bar and music at the finish. And if you manage to get back in one piece, there’s a macabre medal, a glass of the Devil’s fizz and some horrific hot food and drink.
