Ride4Charity, Sri Lanka

We’ve teamed up with adventure travel specialist Travelteer to take part in Ride4Charity – an amazing self-drive Tuk Tuk adventure on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka all in the name of charity!

We’re looking for those with a passion for adventure to start fundraising for our charity and take part in a breath-taking road trip through the mountains, famed tea plantations and white sand beaches of Sri Lanka!

Ride4Charity provides a once-in-a-lifetime experience, while also raising vital funds for Bucks Mind. So you can help local people with mental health problems to get the support they need, while also having an amazing adventure.

Many of the 2020 Challenges had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we’re delighted that you can now register for Ultra Challenges in 2021 and raise much needed funds for Buckinghamshire Mind.

The Spring Deal offers fundraisers the following discounts:

Event name: Jurassic Coast Challenge
Date: 22-23 May 2021
Location: Dorset
Distance: Options range from 25km to 100km

This challenge one week later than was originally planned so it now falls after the 17th May date for the planned easing of restrictions. This may actually be the first major charity event of 2021! For the latest information about this event, please click here.

Event name: London 2 Brighton Challenge
Date: 29-30 May 2021
Distance: Options range from 10km to 100km

2,000 adventurers of all experience levels & ages will take on a classic capital to coast route, testing their grit over the Bank Holiday weekend. Most will Walk, but many will Jog or Run the full 100km, and with half & quarter distance options there’s a challenge for everyone.

A Richmond start by the Thames – then the North Downs and wonderful Surrey & Sussex countryside to halfway at Turners Hill. The 100km route heads up and over the South Downs before the welcome sight of the Brighton coastline comes in to view.

Event name: London Summer Walk

The annual Winter Walk has been rescheduled for… the Summer! It’s the same route, distances & scenery – but with t-shirts, shorts, and (hopefully!) a lot more sunshine. The London Summer Walk will take to the Capital for a full or half marathon looped route starting and finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground. Against a backdrop of bright blue skies, historic & iconic landscapes will adorn the route as we weave from West to East, and back again. Many people believe – there is no greater city, than London in the Summer – join us and find out for yourself!

Event name: Lake District Challenge
Date: 12-13 June 2021
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

New for 2021 – Walk, Jog, or Run the Lake District Challenge and take on England’s finest countryside at your pace. Test yourself on a fantastic Ultra Challenge – suitable for all experience levels – and you’ll get the best support & hospitality all the way.

Our Challenge Base Camp is in Kendal. From there it’s a 100km anticlockwise loop taking in a couple of tough hills, Ambleside, a half way point by Lake Windermere, forests, and nature reserves – with some stunning views enroute – before a huge welcome and celebration back at Base Camp after a momentous journey.

Event name: Cotswold Way Challenge
Date: 28-29 June 2021
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

The magical Cotswold Way provides a stunning setting for a testing challenge – with some fantastic views en route and tough hills in between! It’s a Saturday morning start from historic Cirencester, as 2000 adventurers set out on 100km looped route of footpaths & trails – most walking but many jogging and running.

Whether you’re a keen walker and new to endurance events, or a seasoned hiker up for a new adventure – with half and quarter distance options also – there’s a Challenge here for everyone. You’ll get full support & hospitality all the way to your finish line – where an amazing sense of achievement & celebration awaits.

Name: Peak District Challenge
Date: 3-4 July 2021
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

This challenge will welcome 2,000 adventurers into the fabulous Peak District National Park. We’ll have a major ‘Base Camp’ hub set-up in idyllic Bakewell, which will include a full range of camping options, car parking, and extensive hospitality & welfare services across the weekend – and a full 100km Challenge which takes a tough & varied figure of 8 route through Derbyshire’s finest scenery and Peaks – with full support all the way.

This gem in the Heart of England, and with 50km & 25km challenge options also out of our Bakewell Base Camp – this is the Ultra Challenge not to be missed in 2021.

Event name: Isle of Wight Challenge
Date: 1o-11 July 2021
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

This is normally the first 100km Ultra Challenge of the year, however it was scheduled to take place before the planned easing of restrictions on the 17th May. As such, an alternative date for the Challenge over the weekend 10th-11th July 2021 has been secured.

Event name: Yorkshire Challenge
Date: 17-18 July 2021
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

NEW FOR 2021! Take on the Yorkshire Challenge through some of the UK’s more unexplored geography through historic landscapes, and past ancient landmarks. Most will walk, many will jog, some will run, and all have special reasons to push themselves.

Our full Yorkshire Challenge 100 km is a figure-of-8 route, starting & finishing in Nidderdale, deep in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With half & quarter distance options – there’s a challenge for everyone.

Event name: South West Coast 2 Coast Challenge
Date: 24-25 July 2021
Distance: Various

Take on this new Challenge for 2021 – across England’s South West Peninsular. It’s 100km from Minehead in Somerset on the south bank of the Bristol Channel, down to seaside Dawlish on the southern coast of Devon, with some ups & downs of Exmoor and the meandering Exe Valley in between. You’ll get full support all the way with marquee rest stops, free food & drink, and a huge welcome & celebration at the finish fine after an amazing journey. With half and ‘quarter’ distance options also – there’s a South West Challenge for all!

Event name: Isle of Man Challenge
Date: 7-8 August 2021
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

We’re heading to the Isle of Man, in the middle of the Irish Sea, an 80 mile ferry trip from Liverpool, and perhaps yet to be visited by many. Famous for motorcycle TT races, cats with no tails, and for not being part of the UK – it’s also a magnificent setting for an Ultra Challenge. We’ll have a major base-camp set up near Douglas, the Island’s Capital, with extensive camping & hospitality options, B&B’s close by, and a great opportunity to make a long August weekend of it. The figure of 8 full 100 km route will be a fantastic mix of coastal paths, inland trails, history, and some tough hills!

Event name: South Coast Challenge
Date: 4-5 September 2021
Location: The South Downs Way
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

Take on some of England’s finest scenery as a Walk, Jog, or a Run! An Eastbourne start, up Beachy Head, over the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the famous South Downs Way National Trail with stunning views over the sea to a Brighton mid-point. Devil’s Dyke, welcome rest stops, a few ups & downs all lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an 100km amazing journey.

You will get full support and hospitality all the way from our team – and with half and quarter distance options also – there’s a challenge here for everyone!

Event name: Thames Path Challenge
Date: 11-12 September 2021
Location: Putney Bridge to Henley
Distance: 10km, 25km, 50km or 100km

Take on the Thames Path Challenge following England’s greatest river. Most will walk, many will jog, some will run, and all have special reasons to push themselves.

Our full Thames Path Challenge 100km route heads from Putney Bridge past Hampton Court to Runnymede of Magna Carta fame at 50km, then on past wonderful historic scenery all the way to Henley. With half & quarter distance options – there’s a challenge for everyone.

There’s also the ‘Thames Bridges Trek’ – a 25km walk through the heart of London, zig-zagging over 16 famous bridges with the best views of the Capital’s landmarks.

Join 2000 trekkers as we venture across the Capital taking in unrivalled views of the skyline from its best vantage points.

Setting out from Putney Bridge – it’s East towards the City, zig-zagging over the array of historic bridges – each with its fascinating story – and a midpoint stop at Kennington Oval for some snacks & drinks. 25km later, it’s a finish line celebration in Southwark past the majestic Tower Bridge.

Event name: Chiltern 50 Challenge
Date: 25 September 2021
Distance: 25km or 50km

This ‘end of season’ 50km looped route covers some of the best of the Chilterns countryside. You can Walk, Jog, or Run along historic trails and over rolling hills. Starting & finishing at our Base Camp in Henley-on-Thames, there’s a Saturday night celebration BBQ & entertainment with camping options.

Passing through nature reserves, forests, and a few hills with great views – it’s a route with real variety, and some wonderful scenery – and it’s all easily accessible from London. With 25km options also – there’s a Chiltern Challenge here for everyone!

Event name: London Halloween Walk
Date: 30 October 2021
Distance: Full Marathon, Half Marathon or 10km

Back for 2021 – why not treat yourself to a hair-raising hike around some of the City’s scary streets and historic haunts?

Choose your distance, gather your bravest guys & ghouls to make up a team – or go it alone if you dare and meet up with other chilling challengers. Dress to distress, and our creepy dungeon keepers at The Oval start & finish will meet, greet & shock. Once you escape there’s ghostly looped routes, with zombie rest stops, and if you manage to get back in one piece there’s a macabre medal, a glass of the Devil’s fizz, some horrific hot food & drink – and a souvenir bobble hat to ward off the spirits as you head off.
