Ride4Charity, Sri Lanka

We’ve teamed up with adventure travel specialist Travelteer to take part in Ride4Charity – an amazing self-drive Tuk Tuk adventure on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka all in the name of charity!

We’re looking for those with a passion for adventure to start fundraising for our charity and take part in a breath-taking road trip through the mountains, famed tea plantations and white sand beaches of Sri Lanka!

Ride4Charity provides a once-in-a-lifetime experience, while also raising vital funds for Bucks Mind. So you can help local people with mental health problems to get the support they need, while also having an amazing adventure.

2022 Events

Event name: London Winter Walk
Date: 29-30 January 2022
Start Location: The Oval Cricket Ground, London
Distance: Full Marathon or Half Marathon

A great event to walk off the Christmas celebrations, and to kick start your New Year fitness regime! There are Full Marathon & Half Marathon options, both starting & finishing at The Oval Cricket Ground on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 January, and take in highlights of the Thames, its historic bridges, and many of the Capital’s key landmarks. Families are welcome, there’s a free winter bobble hat & neck buff, rest stops with snacks, with a special medal and hot food at the finish.

Event name: Easter 50 Challenge
Date: 9 April 2022
Start Location: Windsor Racecourse
Distance: 25km or 50km

Take on a 50 km Ultra or a historic 25km – and make it an active Easter! From our Windsor Racecourse base camp 1500 adventurers will head out on looped routes through the Great Park with fantastic views of the Castle, on to Runnymede, along the Thames Path, and takes in some wonderful countryside. You’ll get full support all the way, a few post Easter surprises, a celebration finish at base camp, and a BBQ meal. It’s a great way to kick off the 2022 Ultra Challenge season, and to get in shape for summer.

Event name: Isle of Wight Challenge
Date: 30 April-1 May 2022
Location: Isle of Wight
Distance: Various

Great challenges need great settings – and few are better than the Island’s stunning coastal path. Up to 2,000 adventurers will take on the Isle of Wight in May 2022 – with all out to push themselves further. It’s along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles, and up to historic Cowes at the half way stop. For Full Island challengers it’s on to historic Ventnor, and back to our welcome base camp in Chale after an epic 106km journey. You’ll get full support & hospitality all the way, and with half & quarter Island options also – there’s an Isle of Wight Challenge for everyone!

Event name: Jurassic Coast Challenge
Date: 14-15 May 2022
Start Location: Corfe Castle, Dorset
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

Spectacular World Heritage coastline, with a new start in Corfe Castle, the route heads down to Swanage, and along through Lulworth Cove, past Durdle Door, with ups & downs to Weymouth at half way. For 100 km challengers, it’s past Portland Bill, Chesil Beach, and on to West Bay’s cliffs (of TV’s Broadchurch) – before a finish line celebration in the vibrant Dorset town of Bridport.

Event name: London 2 Brighton Challenge
Date: 28-29 May 2022
Start Location: Richmond-Upon-Thames
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

Now in its 10th year over 2,000 adventurers will take on the Capital to Coast route and test their grit over the Bank Holiday weekend. Richmond-Upon-Thames is the start, and it’s over the North Downs with wonderful Surrey & Sussex countryside to half way at Turners Hill. The full 100 km route heads over the South Downs before the welcome sight of the Brighton coastline comes in to view. You’ll get full support & hospitality all the way – and with half, and quarter distance options also available – there’s a classic challenge here for everyone!

Event name: Lake District Challenge
Date: 11-12 June 2022
Start Location: Kendal
Distance: 50km or 100km

Take on England’s finest countryside at your pace. Our Challenge base-camp is in Kendal, and from there it’s a 100km anticlockwise loop taking in a couple of tough hills, Garburn Pass, Ambleside, a half way point by Lake Windermere, forests, and nature reserves – with some stunning views en route – before a huge welcome and celebration back at Base Camp after a momentous journey. You’ll get full support & hospitality, optional camping / hostel, and with half & quarter distance options – there’s a Lake District Challenge for everyone!

Event name: Cotswold Way Challenge
Date: 25-26 June 2022
Start Location: Cirencester
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

Our base-camp in Cirencester is the hub for a revised 100 km looped route through the heart of the Cotswolds, which provides a stunning setting for 2,000 adventurers to test themselves. There are rolling hills, villages, the magical Cotswold Way, footpaths & trails, with some fabulous views en route – and a few tough hills in between! You’ll get full support & hospitality, including optional university style accommodation at our base-camp, and with half & quarter distance challenges also – there’s a Cotswold Way Challenge for everyone.

Date: 9-10 July 2022
Start Location: Bakewell
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

Our base-camp hub in idyllic Bakewell will welcome over 2,500 adventurers who will test themselves in the fabulous Peak District National Park. There’s a full range of camping options, car parking, and extensive hospitality & welfare services across the weekend – with a full 100 km Challenge which takes a tough & varied figure of 8 route through Derbyshire’s finest scenery. You’ll get full support all the way, and with half & quarter distance options also which pass Chatsworh House – there’s a Peak District Challenge for everyone!

Date: 23-24 July 2022
Start Location: Pateley Bridge
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

Take on the Yorkshire Challenge in the beautiful Nidderdale area, on the south east edge of the Yorkshire Dales. There’s a challenge base-camp hub  in Pateley Bridge with a range of camping options, car parking, and extensive hospitality & welfare services over the weekend. The full 100 km route is a varied figure of 8 style route which takes in the famous Nidderdale Way, Ripley Castle, and Gouthwaite Reservoir. You’ll get full support all the way, and with half, quarter, and 10 km distance options also – there’s a Yorkshire Challenge for everyone!

Date: 3-4 September 2022
Start Location: Eastbourne
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

The South Downs National Park is a superb backdrop for 2000 adventurers to take on a real challenge. An Eastbourne start, up Beachy Head, the magnificent Seven Sisters, and along the South Downs Way, with stunning views over the sea, to a Brighton half-way. Devil’s Dyke, and a few ups & downs lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an amazing 100 km journey. You’ll get full support & hospitality all the way – and with half & quarter distance options available – there’s a South Coast Challenge for everyone!

Event name: Thames Path Challenge
Date: 10-11 September 2022
Start Location: Putney Bridge
Distance: 25km, 50km or 100km

England’s greatest river provides a fantastic backdrop for an unforgettable challenge. Over 3000 adventurers will join the Putney Bridge start, and the full 100 km route heads upstream all the way to Henley along the famous Thames Towpath. It’s through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede, and Windsor, with some wonderful historic scenery en-route to a riverside finish line. You’ll get full support & hospitality all the way – and with 50 km & 25 km distance options also available – plus the Thames Bridges Trek  & Moonlight 10 through Central London  – and the Sunday Henley 10K – there’s a Thames Path Challenge for everyone in 2022.

Event name: Thames Bridges Trek
Date: 10 September 2022
Start Location: Putney Bridge
Distance: 25km

Join over 2000 walkers and trek across the Capital taking in unrivalled views of the skyline, and historic landmarks. Setting out from the Putney Bridge start we had East towards the City, zig-zagging over the array of 16 historic bridges – each with its own fascinating story – and a mid point rest stop at The Oval Cricket Ground for some snacks & drinks. 25km later, it’s a party style finish line celebration in Southwark Park past the final crossing – the majestic Tower Bridge.

Event name: Chiltern 50 Challenge
Date: 24 September 2022
Start Location: Henley
Distance: 25km or 50km

This end of season 50 km looped route covers some of the best of the Chilterns countryside, with historic trails, rolling hills, nature reserves, and fantastic views. Starting & finishing at our base-camp in Henley, there’s a Saturday night celebration BBQ, bar & entertainment, with extensive on-site camping & parking options. It’s a route with real variety and some wonderful scenery – and it’s all easily accessible from London. You’ll get full support & hospitality all the way, and with 25 km options also available – there’s a Chiltern Challenge for everyone!

Event name: Halloween Walk

Start Location: The Dungeon, The Oval Cricket Ground
Distance: 10km, Half Marathon or Full Marathon

Why not treat yourself to a hair-raising hike around some of the City’s scary streets and historic haunts? Choose your distance, gather your bravest guys & ghouls to make up a team – or go it alone if you dare and meet up with other chilling challengers. Dress to distress, and our creepy dungeon keepers at The Oval start & finish will meet, greet & shock. Once you escape there’s ghostly looped routes, with zombie rest stops, and if you manage to get back in one piece there’s a macabre medal, a glass of the Devil’s fizz, some horrific hot food & drink – and a souvenir bobble hat to ward off the spirits as you head off.
